Why you might not be losing weight despite eating healthily?
Why might you not be losing despite eating healthily and sticking to a strict exercise regime? The answer most likely lies inside your body. It is often the result of eating foods which are not necessarily a good fit for your body. Bloating and fatigue are caused by food intolerances, and so if you are not losing weight, it could be time to test your intolerance.
What does test your intolerance mean?
Many causes of weight gain, bloating and other symptoms do with the stomach are often attributed to food intolerances. In the same way, someone suffers from IBS, intolerances can cause you to lose control of your bowels. This is why we are writing this article today on why it is time to test your intolerance. You can do this quite easily with an intolerance test and it could help you to learn which foods you need to eat.
Have we done one?
There are a couple of food intolerance testing companies around, some try blood intolerance testing, and over in America, they are particularly keen on food intolerance testing using hair. The short answer is yes, we did a test that tested for both food allergies and food intolerances. Why? Because any diet can be healthy on the outside but not on the inside.
Our healthy recipes are considered to be healthy by us. But to someone else, they may not be. To find this out you would have to test your intolerance and be able to rule out any possible reasons you may not get the best out of your diet. Of course, should be exercising constantly and keeping your calorie intake low then you should be fine. Weight loss is a gradual journey and you should be patient. The issue is if you are eating the same foods over and over again, because then your body may develop an intolerance.
How do we mix up our diet?
People might ask us ‘why did you test your intolerance’? Well, when starting off, we were quite limited in our diet. We found ourselves eating the same meals over and over again. As mentioned, if you eat too much of the same food, you may develop a food intolerance. Having done our research online and looking into food intolerance tests, we wanted to ensure our healthy diets would actually help us to lose weight.
The intolerance test told us which foods we could try (taste buds allowing). Any foods which were highlighted as a potential intolerance, we limited our interaction with. No one wants to suffer bowel symptoms or bloating, especially when the whole point is to lose weight. For some of us, in order to look good, we have to feel good. Knowing we were eating healthy foods which were suitable for our diet was a great relief. Nobody wants to go to an important work party at Christmas and end up suffering from bloating. You also don’t want to be in the office meeting new colleagues and constantly running to the toilet.
Should you get a food intolerance test?
It is completely up to you. You can do your own research and learn exactly why you may be experiencing uncomfortable symptoms. Learning about the different types of food intolerances was really interesting for us. It is also important when doing your research to consider the difference between food allergies and intolerances. This is major and it made us sit up and notice. Luckily when searching through our healthy recipes and our intolerance test report, we found no reason to be worried. None of the ingredients was labelled as something we had a food allergy to.
What happens if I have a food intolerance?
